FAQ – Longfills Ireland

Frequently Asked Questions About Longfills

What is a longfill?

A longfill is a large bottle that contains a small amount of concentrated flavour (usually 10ml) designed to be mixed with VG, PG, and optional nicotine shots to create a larger amount of e-liquid, typically up to 120ml.

How much e-liquid can I make from a longfill?

Most longfills allow you to create up to 120ml of final e-liquid, depending on the bottle size and mixing ratio.

Are longfills cheaper than regular e-liquids?

Yes, longfills are significantly more cost-effective. Instead of buying multiple small bottles, you can mix one larger bottle, which reduces the price per ml. Ept tax only apply on the concentrate in the bottle.

So instead of 120x50cents per each ml, Ept tax applies only on 10ml of concentrate.

What do I need to mix a longfill?

To mix a longfill, you will need:

  • Vegetable Glycerine (VG)
  • Propylene Glycol (PG)
  • Optional nicotine shots

These ingredients allow you to customise your final e-liquid exactly to your preference.

How do I mix a longfill?

  1. Open the bottle
  2. Add nicotine shots if desired
  3. Fill the rest with VG/PG base
  4. Shake well
  5. Leave to steep for a few days for best flavour

Do longfills contain nicotine?

No, longfills do not contain nicotine. You can add nicotine shots separately if needed.

How long should I steep a longfill?

Most flavours are ready within 1–3 days, but for best results, we recommend 3–5 days steeping time.

Are longfills safe to use?

Yes, longfills are safe when used correctly and mixed with high-quality ingredients.

What flavours are available in longfills?

Longfills come in a wide variety of flavours, including:

  • Fruit
  • Ice / menthol
  • Dessert
  • Tobacco

Can beginners use longfills?

Yes, longfills are beginner-friendly. The mixing process is simple and only takes a few minutes.

Are longfills better than disposable vapes?

Longfills offer more flexibility and are much more cost-effective over time compared to disposables.

What VG/PG ratio should I choose when mixing a longfill?

The best VG/PG ratio depends on your personal preference and the type of device you use.

Most vapers in Ireland choose between the following options:

  • 50/50 VG/PG – Balanced flavour and throat hit, ideal for pod systems and beginner devices
  • 70/30 VG/PG – Smoother vape with more vapour, perfect for sub-ohm devices
  • 80/20 VG/PG – Maximum vapour production with a smoother inhale, best for advanced setups

It’s important to remember that most longfill concentrates are PG-based, and nicotine shots are also typically PG. This means your final mix will naturally contain more PG than expected.

For example, if you aim for a 70/30 ratio, you may need to use slightly more VG to balance the additional PG coming from the flavour concentrate and nicotine.

Choosing the right ratio allows you to customise your vaping experience, whether you prefer stronger flavour, smoother inhale, or bigger clouds.
